Welcome to Monstay Farm

We are a small, friendly and unspoilt campsite near to the historic town of Ludlow.

The camping fields are large and there is plenty of space for you to camp away from your neighbours. If you are in a group you can all camp together and we have plenty of hook ups so tents and caravans can be together - perfect for those family or friends get-togethers around the camp fire.

Monstay is a traditional working farm set within the beautiful surroundings of the Mortimer Forest. From the camp site there is easy access to the forest, where you can walk, mountain bike, bird watch, nature watch or hunt for fossils.

The farm and forest are rich in wildlife whether birds, mammals, butterflies or reptiles are your interest and we can guide you in what there is to see... Or if you would rather, just relax and look at the fantastic views or the stars! It is very dark at night with no street lights nearby.

About Us

The Farm and Campsite

Monstay Farm is a traditional working farm set within the beautiful surroundings of the Mortimer Forest. From the campsite there is easy access to the forest, where a wide variety of wildlife and leisure activities can be found. The site also provides an excellent base for exploring the local area.

"The campsite is tucked away up a very long track and thus away from traffic noise, and consists of two very slightly sloping fields, one with a gorgeous view west to the Cambrian mountains, the other to the south over Mortimer forest. Kids intent on hide-and-seeking, den-building, or just getting away from their parents for a while will delight in the woods adjacent to the site. Off-road cyclists, meanwhile, can take off on the trail that runs through the farm or head for the paths that cross Mortimer forest."

The Guardian, (16/04/11).

"Not only was the weather great but so was the campsite. Easy to find using their websites directions you are directed up a long drive. At the end of the drive was the farmhouse and stables. Once through the stables you come across 3 fields. One of the owners will come out and introduce themselves to you at this point and tell you roughly where to pitch. We were given the bottom field which was completely empty. Result. We set up right down by the fence which overlooked a lovely valley and the Mortimer Forest. There was a big tree with a swing which the kids loved and an incredibly friendly working sheepdog that came and checked us out."
