Description

Walk through Deer parks and Battle sites on The Mortimer Trail

Take a short break to walk The Mortimer Trail, from the Welsh border to the medieval town of Ludlow on a Wheely Wonderful Cycling and Walking holiday

Autumn is a great time to walk The Mortimer Trail, a way-marked 30 mile trail, between Kington (on the Welsh border with Offa's Dyke) and the Medieval town of Ludlow. The Trail follows the high ground, with fantastic views  to the Black Mountains, and the Malverns.  The walk is named after the Norman rulers of the area – the Mortimers, who built grand castles, hunted deer, held grand tournaments and bloodthirsty battles in this area, and changed the course of history.

Food is a real highlight on The Mortimer Trail, each night you can stop in a warm & friendly inns, with log fires & revel in Michelin star food at the Stagg Inn, local produce from The Riverside Inn’s garden and finish in food lover’s Ludlow.
