New Summer Shropshire Hills Bus Service in 2013!

Date Posted: 1st March 2013

Great news for local people, visitors and businesses in the Mortimer Country area! A new weekend shuttle bus service, Castle Connect, has been confirmed for 2013. It will link Ludlow, Leintwardine, Bucknell, Knighton, Clun and Bishop's Castle and will be of great benefit to the local community and visitors to the area.

There's also good news for local young people: those aged 16-25 can buy a day ticket for travel on this service for only £3.00!

Shropshire Hills AONB Partnership's Promotion Officer Stephanie Hayes comments: "Whether you are into walking, shopping, castles or country pubs, this bus has it all and more!"

She continues: " Funding from Shropshire Council's Sustainable Transport Project has enabled a trial this year and research undertaken in 2012 suggests that this route with its stops at the different towns will be popular with visitors and residents alike."

Local bus company, M&J Travel, based in Newcastle, has been awarded the contract and will be operating a 33-seater bus. The Shropshire Hills Shuttle starts on Saturday 4th May and will run every Saturday, Sunday and Bank Holiday Monday until 29th September. For details of timetables, and ticket prices.
