Motor Sports and Flying lessons

Whilst feet, bikes and horses are the best way to get around – there are also lots of opportunities for motor sport.

Every year in the first weekend in September The Woodpecker Stages Rally takes place in Mortimer Forest & other local forests – car rallying as a spectator sport is full of thrills..

There is a vintage car rally in Ludlow in May each year – which has now teamed up with Ludlow Spring food Festival  – to make it even more fun

The quiet roads are loved by vintage car enthusiasts – but the most spectacular local event is the Vintage Sports Car club hill climb event in September, near Presteigne.

At Shobdon airport, you can learn to fly a light aircraft, a helicopter, microlight  or even experience aerial acrobatics - the "loop the loop" is not for the fainthearted
