Walking in Mortimer CountryWe have our very own Walking route: The Mortimer Trail. This is a 30-mile walk through the historic forest & lands of the Mortimer Family, starting in Kington and ending in Ludlow. It makes an ideal short break.

There are also a number of loop walks for day walks.

The Herefordshire Way is a circular route of 150 miles; two of the best sections of the walk come through Mortimer Country.

border with Wales, the best sections of the Offa’s Dyke fortifications
can be seen on the stretch of the Offa’s Dyke National Trail that

Cycling in Mortimer Country

Mortimer Country
has fabulous cycling for everyone. The most popular route around the Teme
Valley is ideal for all abilities, start from
Wheely
Wonderful Cycling’s Hire centre. You can also start this
cycle ride from Leintwardine or Wigmore.
We also have top class
mountain biking routes in Hopton Wood Mountain Bike Trails - 20 miles
of woodland tracks – including a family route and a competition route
for experienced Mountainbikers. (Available from Visitor Information

There is also easier forest cycling in Mortimer Forest.
